The Tripura TET Teachers’ Welfare  Society on Monday demanded regular scale to all the teachers at the time of entry into the service removing the existing norms of five- year service on fixed pay basis.

A delegation of TET teachers met Director of Secondary Education, NC Sharma and submitted a memorandum comprising of teachers’ benefit.

“We want the government to appoint TET teachers on regular basis instead of fixed pay for five-year, a formula adopted by the erstwhile Left Front government in 2007. This is literally an injustice to the teachers”, said Rajib Datta Paul, the president of the teachers’ body.

In the memorandum submitted to the Director of Secondary education, the teachers’ body also sought to provide seniority to those who have switched over from TET I to TET II.

“For example, a graduate teacher got job by clearing TET and rendered service for three years and then he or she appointed as post graduate teacher. It is really painful that the department will not count the previous service tenure lingering the regularization process”, he said.
