Train service distrusted again, No need to get panic for fuel, assures Food Minister

Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Thursday said there is no need to panic due to sudden disruption in Badapur-Lumding section of railway network.“Due to cyclone Remal, landslides were occurred on the rail track in Badapur-Lumding section of railway network but there was damage on the track. Due to landslides, train service has been stopped for a few days”, he told the media.The NFR has been working to clear the debris on the rail track to resume the train service between Badarpur and Lumding, Chowdhury said, adding he had talks with the General Manager of NFR who assured him of resuming the service by two or three days.Claiming that the state has a fuel stock for one week, the Minister said the stock of petrol and diesel is satisfactory and there is no need to trigger panic. “Once the rail service is resumed, the fuel stock will also be improved”, he said.Chowdhury claimed the state has a buffer stock of food stuff despite disruption in the railway communication.Due to the impact of Remal, the NFR has suspended all the long distance trains in the section till June 2. As many as four long distance trains including Tripura Sundari express and Kanchanjunga express which were scheduled to start from Agartala have been cancelled.
