Tripura Literature Festival going to held

Agartala: Feb 18: The state of Tripura is set to add a new chapter to its list of achievements with the "Tripura Literature Festival" to be held in Agartala at the Rabindra Centenary Building, organized by Udan. This grand festival will be inaugurated on February 21st, International Mother Language Day, and will continue on February 21st, 22nd, and 23rd.
The Honorable Chief Minister of the state, Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, has been requested to inaugurate the first Tripura Literature Festival on February 21st at 5 pm. The Honorable Governor of Telangana, Jishnu Dev Verma, and the state's Honorable Minister Sushanta Chowdhury are also expected to attend the event. The festival will feature poets, writers, scientists, doctors, artists, and intellectuals from both home and abroad.
This event is significant for Tripura, as it brings together distinguished personalities such as Booker Prize winner Geetanjali Shree, Magsaysay Award winner and highly respected doctor Ravi Kannan, Padma Shri awardee Rakesh Sharma, and Sahitya Akademi Award winners. The festival will include various sessions where notable figures like poet Joy Goswami, artist Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta, and Raju Baul, who gained fame at the Jaipur Literature Festival, will participate.
The event will also feature performances by renowned individuals such as Dr. Kunal Sarkar, writer and doctor Dr. Nabakumar Basu, and recitation artist Chandrima Roy. An exhibition of sculpture and unique pottery, along with book stalls and food arrangements, will further enhance the festival's appeal.
Udan, the organizing volunteer organization, has expressed gratitude to the various institutions that have supported this grand celebration, including Techno India University Tripura, Shyam Sundar Company Jewelers, Tripura Skill Development Department, and many more.
