Agartala: Feb 14: Opposition parties in Tripura are finally speaking out against the BJP after five years of silence, but their efforts are being hindered by internal conflicts and disorganization. Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar criticized this approach, stating that the BJP cannot be defeated by such disorganized efforts .

Sarkar emphasized the need for a united and strong people's movement to bring about change. He condemned the government's lack of action on issues like unemployment, reduced purchasing power, and rising prices of essential goods. Sarkar also criticized the central government's indifference to the public distribution system (PDS) and demanded that the government allocate funds to strengthen the PDS and make essential commodities available at affordable prices.

The Left Front is demanding that the government increase funds for schemes launched in the last three to four years and provide financial support for the welfare of the people. Sarkar warned that without a strong people's movement, the government will continue to impose heavy burdens on the common people.
