Agartala: Dec 11: A long march was organized today by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to protest the recent attack on Hindu minority members and monk Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh. The march, consisting of around 2,000 vehicles, began in Dhaka and is headed towards Akhaura, where the atmosphere has been tense. Despite the tension, trade between India and Bangladesh continued normally, with goods like fish and plastic being imported from Bangladesh.

To ensure safety, security measures have been intensified at the Akhaura Integrated Checkpoint in Agartala, with the BSF, police, and TSR personnel deployed and barricades set up. Interestingly, residents near the Akhaura border are planning to greet the marchers with packets of sweets, showcasing India's reputation for hospitality and delicious sweets.
