Two REGA labourers dead in tree collapse in Tripura

Two MGNREGA labourers died and two more sustained injuries when a full-grown tree fell on them at a remote area of Tripura’s Dhalai district on Wednesday, police said.While Robert Malsom (22) died on the spot, the other identified as Jue Malsom (18) succumbed to her injuries at Kuali hospital, officiating officer in charge (OC), Ambassa police station, Prakrita Jamatia said.According to him, a group of labourers were building an embankment on the slope of two sides of hilly areas under MGNREGA scheme.“Suddenly, a full grown tree fell on them at Nailahabari resulting one died on the spot while three were injured. Later, one more succumbed to her injuries.
